Short & sweet this week!
Here's the bump...
And here are the latest stats...
How far along? 14 weeks ... I'm in my 2nd trimester!!!
Baby is the size of a: lemon
Maternity clothes? Not quite yet but finding pants that fit is a bit challenging!
Symptoms: Still the occasional gaggy/pukey feeling (better describes my "morning sickness" in my opinion), increased appetite but a general aversion to lots of foods, indigestion, increased urinary frequency, fatigue, mood swings.
Sleep: Slightly improved ... maybe getting up to pee a little more this week.
Best moment this week: Nothing too crazy happened this week so I'm going to say getting my hair cut with includes a heavenly shampoo with head, neck and shoulder massage. And I got to share my good news with my hairdresser who is so excited for us.
Miss Anything? Fruits & veggies (not that I never eat them but it's just not quite the same)!
Number of times I get up to pee each night: Still an average of 2.
Food cravings: I think Chick-fil-a might be edging its way on this list. And Oreos!
Anything making you queasy or sick: It's still pretty hit or miss. For example, when I opened the refrigerator on Monday and smelled the leftover pizza contained therein, I thought it smelled amazing. Then, the very next day, I opened the refrigerator and gagged from the pizza smell! So confusing & frustrating!
Have you started to show yet? In general, I don't think so but then I look at the picture above & I guess I do indeed have a little bump!
Gender: Nope! And to be super honest, I'm kinda getting sick of people asking me, "Are you going to find out what you're having?" "What do you want?" And people telling me, "I think it's a girl." or "I think it's a boy." I know, I know, I have to get used to this sort of thing but I'm also allowed to vent on my blog!
Mood: Good! I'm not sure if The Bean would disagree but I think overall, I've been very positive and in a good mood this week!
Looking forward to: Having a bump and even though it's several weeks off yet, feeling baby kicks!
What the baby is up to this week according to Babycenter.com:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown,
grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his
facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one
expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he
releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up
until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now,
you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon
— and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head,
which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his
arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his
body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to
develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over
his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that
it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the
production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches
and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure
about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
Luke 1: 46-49
And Mary said:
"My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And holy is His name."
